⚠️ Critical: Manual Audits Are Mandatory for Legal Compliance

Court judgments have consistently ruled that accessibility overlay widgets and automated-only testing do NOT provide legal compliance. Cases including Murphy v. Eyebobs LLC (2021), Quezada v. US Wings (2021), and FTC v. accessiBe Ltd. (2025) have established that:

  • Overlays cannot fix underlying code issues (semantic HTML, ARIA, keyboard navigation)
  • Automated tools catch only 25-30% of accessibility issues
  • Screen reader testing with real assistive technologies is mandatory
  • Keyboard navigation testing must be performed by humans
  • User testing with people with disabilities is essential
