European Accessibility Act (EAA) Compliance
EAA compliance solutions for covered products and services. EN 301 549 mapping, self-service checkers, and implementation support.
EAA Overview
The European Accessibility Act (EAA) went live June 28, 2025. EN 301 549 is the standard that aligns with WCAG 2.1 and 2.2. If you sell in the EU, you need to comply.
Covered products and services include:
- Computers and operating systems
- Smartphones and tablets
- Self-service terminals (ATMs, ticketing machines)
- E-commerce websites and mobile apps
- Banking services
- E-books and e-readers
- Audio-visual media services
⚠️ Critical: Overlays Do NOT Provide EAA Compliance
Court judgments have ruled that accessibility overlays do NOT satisfy EAA requirements. Cases including Murphy v. Eyebobs LLC (2021) and FTC v. accessiBe Ltd. (2025) establish that overlays cannot fix underlying code. For EAA compliance, organizations MUST conduct regular manual audits with assistive technologies aligned with EN 301 549 testing requirements.
We help you understand what's required, check your compliance, and fix what needs fixing. You get clear guidance and tools that work. Our approach includes mandatory manual testing with assistive technologies, not just automated scanning or overlays.
